Requirements

  • Experience in strategic technology leadership, including defining, developing, and executing short- and long-term technology strategies and operating plans aligned with global business objectives
  • Proven operational leadership over multiple technology platforms in healthcare, patient insights, or related fields (e.g., COA Accelerator, Cronos Rater Services, FHIR interoperability)
  • Ability to guide technology roadmaps across businesses, communicate strategies, and manage major developments/initiatives
  • Expertise in evaluating and reducing technical debt, defining architecture patterns for reuse, and optimizing product development speed/quality
  • Strong partnership skills with PMO/Client Services, Product Management, GTM, Strategic Science, Licensing, and Implementation Services
  • Knowledge of interoperability standards (e.g., FHIR, OMAP) and ability to shepherd accelerators across regions (EMEA, Japan, APAC)
  • Experience evaluating technology enhancements for data ingestion, throughput, and efficiency across platforms
  • Background in corporate development, including strategic insourcing, partnerships, and acquisitions
  • Ability to evaluate market, competitive landscape, engineering, development, and AI trends to recommend platform enhancements
  • Skills in developing content for reporting on technology evolution and performance
  • Experience liaising with eCOA, patient services, RDS, and other internal teams for technology interlocks
  • Capability to coordinate technology operational management reviews

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic technology leadership: define, develop, and execute short- and long-term technology strategies and operating plans for business practices, ensuring alignment with global, corporate, and regional objectives
  • Guide the technology roadmap across multiple businesses and segments, communicating business strategy, major developments, and new initiatives
  • Lead operations over existing platforms including COA Accelerator, Cronos Rater Services Platform, COAS Website Delivery, Quality Metric Licensing platform, HRS, DHH, Patient Experience and Support Applications (incl. SmartWatch), IQVIA Connection, Clinical Insights, FHIR and interoperability accelerator, and new platforms being developed/acquired
  • Evaluate and reduce inherited technical debt
  • Define architecture patterns to solve business challenges and optimize reuse across IQVIA for improved development speed and quality
  • Partner with PMO/Client Services, Product Management, GTM, Strategic Science, Licensing, and Implementation Services on deliverables, client presentations, and client outputs
  • Shepherd the IQVIA Interoperability accelerator, including FHIR, OMAP, and regional interoperability (EMEA, Japan, APAC)
  • Evaluate and recommend technology enhancements to streamline FHIR ingestion for better throughput, efficiency, and integration into IQVIA platforms
  • Partner with Corporate Development on strategic technology insourcing, partnerships, and acquisitions
  • Evaluate market/competitive technology, engineering, development, and AI evolution; recommend enhancements to offerings/platforms
  • Develop content and approaches to report on technology evolution and performance
  • Liaise and coordinate technology interlocks with eCOA, IHP, PCS, patient services, RDS, and others
  • Coordinate effective and consistent technology operational management reviews
