Responsibilities

Represent the company's interests to the US government as well as international governments and agencies (non-lawyer role)
Assist with government contracts, domestic product preferences, gift and gratuity regulations, and former government employee restrictions
Participate in long-term efforts including policy shaping
Develop expertise within the function
Build reputation within the organization, serving as an expert in the discipline and providing thought leadership
Influence policy, ensure delivery within the function, and connect with other organizational functions
Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services
Utilize understanding of industry trends to inform decision-making
Guide others to find creative solutions for complex problems that may impact the organization
Assess the quality of received information and question contradictory data for analysis
Use various internal resources and external resources outside own function to aid decision-making
Potentially lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource needs, risk, and/or complexity
Provide business solutions to senior leadership in the function
Communicate complex messages and negotiate primarily internally with others holding different views
