Position Overview

Alcon is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Associate I, Surgical Field Sales to join our Sales & Sales Support function. This role is crucial for achieving sales targets by selling surgical ophthalmic products within the assigned territory. You will be responsible for building strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs, and ensuring satisfaction through effective product demonstrations and support. This position is specifically focused on the Surgical Glaucoma Sales Team in Richmond, VA, and requires expert consultation and training on Alcon's Glaucoma products to achieve optimal patient outcomes and sales objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales targets for specific accounts or territories.
  • Promote and sell Alcon products through various sales activities.
  • Develop strong relationships with key opinion leaders and high-volume users.
  • Discover and develop new business opportunities.
  • Execute a defined sales plan and strategy.
  • Conduct frequent customer visits and provide necessary support.
  • Participate in and conduct events and meetings to update customers on products, services, and prices.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive customer database.
  • Conduct competitive market analysis to maintain Alcon's product market share and react to competition.
  • Provide timely reports and ensure accurate documentation of sales activities and customer interactions.
  • Strategically influence key physicians as champions/advocates of targeted Alcon Surgical Glaucoma products.
  • Maximize Alcon relationships by identifying key decision-makers and establishing communication with physician staff in clinic and Operating Room settings.
  • Demonstrate strong technical and clinical abilities to discuss products in the operating room and perform product in-services.
  • Coordinate and lead educational presentations and surgical wet labs.
  • Manage the training process of MD’s through qualification and proficiency phases.
  • Collaborate with the entire Alcon Surgical team to enhance the Alcon Surgical Portfolio.
  • Strategically work with the Surgical Academic Manager to assist in the education of residents, fellows, and teaching institutions within the specified geographic region.
  • Oversee speaker development and coordination of speaker activities with Alcon marketing, sales, and Speakers Alliance.

Territory

Richmond, VA – This territory includes Richmond, Norfolk, VA Beach, Chesapeake, Charlottesville, Roanoke, and other markets in SW Virginia.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or High School + 10 yrs; Associate’s + 6 yrs; Master’s).
    • Ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
    • 2 Years of Relevant Experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
    • 3-5 years of relevant experience in Medical Devices/Equipment.
    • Demonstrated Scientific/Clinical/Technical Differentiation.
    • Strong Presentation Skills.
    • KOL Management experience.
    • Team-Centered approach.
    • Ability to Drive Results / Lead Change with Business Acumen.
