Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related field) or equivalent technical discipline
  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred
  • Coursework or certification in cost modeling, procurement analytics, or value engineering is a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in cost engineering, sourcing analytics, or procurement operations in a manufacturing environment
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes: Plastics (injection molding, extrusion), Metals (machining, stamping, casting), Electronics (PCBA, harnesses), Assemblies (manual/automated)
  • Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings, BOMs, and routings
  • Awareness of global supply chain structures and cost drivers
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas), aPriori, SAP, and PLM/CAD tools (SolidWorks/Creo)
  • Strong analytical and data management skills
  • Effective communicator with ability to present cost insights to diverse audiences
  • Experience in supplier benchmarking and parametric modeling
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Willingness to work in shifts (2-11 pm) to support stakeholders in US

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support should-cost modeling across key commodity categories: plastics, metals, electronics, and assemblies
  • Develop parametric cost models using tools like aPriori, integrating inputs from BOMs, 3D models, and supplier data
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Procurement, Finance) to validate cost inputs and influence sourcing decisions
  • Provide cost transparency and benchmarking insights to support negotiations and design-to-cost initiatives
  • Maintain cost databases and documentation to ensure consistency across global programs
  • Analyze supplier cost structures and prepare detailed cost breakdowns
  • Conduct price variance and cost trend analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Support NPI projects by aligning cost targets with design and sourcing strategies
  • Assist in supplier workshops and clean-sheet cost discussions
  • Monitor commodity indices and update standard rates in cost models
  • Prepare reports and presentations for sourcing and leadership teams
