Requirements

  • Robust background in Writing, Communications, Journalism or a related field
  • 5–7 years’ experience in a corporate or agency environment, preferably as a copywriter for a major retailer, e-commerce company or digital communications agency
  • At least 3 years’ experience writing consumer-facing marketing content, including digital communications (website copy, emails, social media, etc.)
  • Expert command of the English language (including spelling, grammar and punctuation)
  • Proven experience crafting and selling big ideas while also staying focused on specific deliverables and executions
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing work priorities, demands and changes
  • Genuine interest in digital marketing and the online space
  • Proven experience collaborating effectively with multiple functions, both within and outside of the creative discipline
  • Creative, bold, and passionate about the role that language plays in sport, culture, and marketing
  • Strong concept chops, elite presentation skills, and expertise in crafting consumer-facing messaging across all platforms and media
  • Entrepreneurial approach, collaborative and can-do attitude
  • Adept at crafting messaging that adheres to an established brand voice and tailoring copy to audience vernacular
  • Ability to take existing information about athletes and products and spin engaging stories
  • Obsessive attention to spelling, grammar, and sentence construction; takes feedback well; reads work aloud; knows rules and when to break them

Responsibilities

  • Craft copy read by millions of consumers and athletes, adhering to Jordan Brand’s global Brand Voice standards, in-house style guides, and seasonal directives
  • Continue the legacy of Jordan Brand’s distinctive brand voice—bold, authentic, colloquial, and clever
  • Work on seasonal campaign concepts and partner with narrative managers, writers, and art directors on deliverables across the Jordan Brand ecosystem
  • Report to the Global Brand Narrative Director, Energy Jordan Brand
  • Partner closely day-to-day with narrative managers, art directors, designers, producers, and marketers
  • Collaborate with Brand Voice, Brand Design, and Brand Marketing senior leaders
  • Work with external creatives and partners to commission work across platforms
  • Collaborate with other teams across the marketing organization to ensure copy answers their brief
  • Clearly communicate ideas to various internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership
