Senior Flight Dynamics Engineer, Orbits R&D
Planet- Full Time
- Senior (5 to 8 years)
Candidates should possess software skills in C, C++, knowledge of control and optimization theory, and expertise in common numerical programming environments such as Python, Julia, or MATLAB. Familiarity with ADCS design/simulation for spacecraft systems and experience running dynamics simulations are also required, along with excellent communication, presentation, and coordination skills.
The Spacecraft ADCS Engineer will design and implement guidance & control algorithms in an embedded C++ environment, define requirements for ADCS algorithms and run simulations to evaluate on-orbit performance, develop ground-processing algorithms for dynamic tasking of remote sensing spacecraft, guide the development of ground-processing algorithms for sensor calibration and an offline geolocation processing pipeline, guide the development of ADCS component emulators, collaborate with stakeholders to validate hardware systems, and design the ADCS verification and validation approach for the spacecraft and acceptance tests for components.
Designs and operates satellite constellations
Muon Space designs, deploys, and operates satellite constellations to provide Earth Intelligence that helps protect people, the climate, and ecosystems. Their services include creating mission strategies, building satellite systems, and managing these systems using their own AI automation technology. This approach allows them to deliver high performance and reliability while keeping costs low and speeding up satellite launches. Unlike many competitors, Muon Space focuses on understanding and solving their clients' specific needs rather than just selling satellite products. They operate on a pay-as-you-go model, which includes the development and operation of satellite constellations and the data generated from them. The team at Muon Space has significant experience from leading organizations like NASA, Google, and SpaceX, which enhances their capability to deliver valuable insights to clients in areas such as climate change, security, and resource management.
