Position Summary

We are seeking a Software Engineer Manager to join our Consumer Solutions team. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving development tasks, coordinating with engineers to tackle complex challenges, and collaborating closely with product managers to ensure solutions align with business objectives. You will also be responsible for upholding high standards for code quality, performance, and scalability within your team.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Mentor and foster the growth of engineers on your team(s).
  • Complete development tasks, collaborating with team members to resolve technical challenges.
  • Partner with product managers to ensure development solutions effectively meet business use cases and goals.
  • Ensure code is thoroughly tested (unit tests and AAT), performs efficiently, and is scalable where necessary.
  • Design and clearly document APIs using tools like OpenAPI/Swagger, ensuring they are understandable for inter-team collaboration.
  • Optimize the performance of Node.js applications, focusing on memory usage, event loop efficiency, and asynchronous code handling.
  • Adhere to security best practices in API development to prevent vulnerabilities and ensure secure communication.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with DevOps practices, including deploying Node.js applications in cloud environments (e.g., AWS) and utilizing CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions for automation.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Experience with Node.js.
  • Experience with Mobile app development (Flutter, Swift, Kotlin, or React Native).
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful API development.
  • Proficiency in unit testing and automated acceptance testing (AAT).
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently within a small, dynamic team.
  • A natural curiosity and eagerness to learn and innovate.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with AWS ECS and Lambda.
  • Familiarity with Open API, GitHub Actions, DataDog, and Kong Gateway.
