Requirements

Exceptional presentation and communications capabilities, with confidence presenting to highly skilled audiences including enterprise architects and C-level executives
Experience with technical sales of distributed systems, infrastructure software like databases, message queues, SaaS, or Big Data products
Some experience in Java or Python and familiarity with developing ETL applications
Bachelor’s level degree in Computer Science or relevant experience
Understanding of MEDDIC/MEDDPICC or similar frameworks used for qualification

Responsibilities

Act as a trusted technical advisor to Confluent customers during technical design and development of their end-to-end solutions
Be conversant with the current state and future roadmap of Kafka in open source, identify known issues, and inform customers of upcoming fixes or workarounds
Clearly articulate Confluent’s technical and product positioning to a wide variety of business and technical stakeholders
Forge strong relationships with stakeholders throughout the sales cycle and beyond
Autonomously lead engagements with customers while working closely with Account Executives and other internal teams
Serve as a key technical advisor to the sales team, working closely with product management and engineering teams, and advocate for the product in front of prospects, customers, and the Kafka/Big Data communities
Drive the technical evaluation stage of the overall sales process to support customer success
