Requirements

Candidates should have 7+ years of software development experience building scalable systems for millions of users, excellent product instincts, and experience designing complex distributed systems. They must be able to define technical roadmaps, identify and build systems to improve the business, understand and explain technical trade-offs, enable cross-team collaboration, mentor others, and own projects from inception to maintenance. The ability to quickly become effective in new technologies is required, and experience with payment systems, international commerce, and high-growth startup environments is a plus. Candidates must also be open to frontend work when necessary and be within commuting distance of the New York hub.

Responsibilities

The Software Engineer will be responsible for advancing critical infrastructure supporting payment scale and reliability, diversity of payment options, fraud mitigation, and improvements in transaction modeling and tax. They will collaborate with partner teams, other teams, and senior leaders to ensure seamless international marketplace operations. This includes designing and building systems, making trade-offs, exercising good judgment, communicating effectively, delegating ownership, and shipping high-quality products iteratively.
