Requirements

Candidates should possess at least 7 years of back-end development experience using Node.js and TypeScript, with proven expertise in architecting complex distributed systems focusing on scalability, reliability, and security. Extensive experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs, including versioning, documentation, and performance optimization, is required. Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, including microservices, serverless, and containerized environments, is essential. Strong system design and architectural decision-making skills, the ability to mentor and lead engineering teams, and excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills are also necessary. Bonus points include knowledge of payment platforms like Stripe or QuickBooks, experience with C#, Datadog, FinTech, or highly regulated industries, and previous work with real-time payment processing systems.

Responsibilities

The Staff Software Engineer will architect, design, and evolve scalable, high-performance APIs in a distributed environment that power Web, Mobile, and partner integrations. They will lead integrations with payment processors and alternative payment rails, ensuring reliability, compliance, and future extensibility. Responsibilities include collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Risk, Finance, and Operations to translate business requirements into resilient technical solutions. The role involves driving the full software development lifecycle, from technical design and implementation through testing, deployment, and post-launch support. Additionally, the engineer will mentor and guide team members, set high standards for system design, security, scalability, and code quality, and champion operational excellence through observability, documentation, monitoring, and alerting. Proactively identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving complex technical issues to maintain high availability and seamless customer experiences is also a key duty.
