Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Proven proficiency in monitoring tools such as DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack, as well as cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP is required. Strong background in software engineering with expertise in relevant programming languages like Python, Java, and Go is essential. Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is also necessary. Excellent communication skills are crucial for interfacing with various stakeholders and documenting systems and processes. A strong understanding of distributed systems, networking, and database technologies, along with excellent problem-solving skills, is expected.
The Software Engineer, Observability will develop and maintain systems for effective monitoring, logging, and tracing of software applications while ensuring scalability and reliability. They will integrate tools for logging, monitoring, and alerting to enhance visibility into system performance, and collaborate with engineering teams to embed observability practices into workflows. Regular analysis of system performance and identifying areas for improvement will be part of the role. The engineer will stay up-to-date with trends in observability and introduce innovative solutions while participating in strategic planning for the technology roadmap. Comprehensive documentation for observability systems and processes will also be created.
