About the role: The Chronosphere Logging product delivers real-time, structured insights into the behavior and performance of systems and applications. Built for scale and reliability, it empowers our customers’ engineering teams to quickly detect, diagnose, and resolve issues before they impact end-users. We are looking for an experienced engineer who has worked on large scale distributed systems and has a proven track record of solving complex technical problems and is looking to work on a product development team.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and ship enhancements and new features to core product capabilities using Go, deployed on Kubernetes across cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP.
  • Design, implement, and deliver complex product features that address key customer pain points, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams—including product management, design, and engineering—to ensure alignment and impact throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Execute upholding reliability and software quality standards.
  • Collaborate and shape the architectural and technical roadmap to support scalability, performance, and long-term product vision.
  • Work closely with talented engineers in a fast-paced environment that fosters accelerated learning, continuous growth, and career development.

What you will achieve

  • In the first 3 months: Build a deep understanding of Chronosphere’s logs product, learn about the domain, our customers’ needs, the underlying technology, and how we deliver changes. Start to contribute changes to our product in a manner that enables quick learning. Build relationships by working closely with your team.
  • After 3 months: Independently own features on our roadmap from scoping all the way to delivery to production. Partner with product, design, and other engineers as needed to deliver these projects. Start to build relationships across teams.

Requirements

  • The ability to independently own projects from inception to delivery (i.e., plan and gather requirements, collaborate with Product, Design, Engineers).
  • Experience in working with large-scale distributed systems.
  • A passion for solving complex problems and the ability to empathize with customers.
  • The curiosity and motivation to learn deep, complex domain areas.
  • The habit to seek feedback to improve your work and the ability to ask for help when you need it.
  • A flexible, collaborative working style. We’re a small team working in a rapidly evolving space, and we’re looking for people that will help build a positive, supportive environment.
  • Fluency in a system-level language such as Go, C++, Java, C#, or Rust. Knowing a specific language isn’t important; what matters is that you’ve become fluent in one by spending a lot of time on the types of projects where these languages are used.
