As a Software Engineer, you will be the technical lead for challenging projects, collaborating with Product Managers and Designers to build features and products for our community and client companies. You will interact with a vibrant community of security researchers and hackers, leveraging this experience to enhance our offerings. You will combine broad technological expertise, deep domain knowledge, and a dedication to business objectives, seeking leadership responsibilities, spearheading new initiatives, and making systematic improvements to codebases.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in full-stack software engineering, particularly within a SAAS environment.
  • Preferably with experience in Ruby on Rails.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Product Managers and Designers to be the technical lead for challenging projects.
  • Build delightful features and products for HackerOne's community and client companies.
  • Collaborate effectively as a team member.
  • Interact with the security researcher and hacker community.
  • Seek leadership responsibilities and spearhead new initiatives.
  • Make systematic improvements to technical weaknesses in codebases.
  • Translate feature requests into simple, robust engineering solutions.

Onboarding and Development

  • Within 60 Days: Commit code to repositories and develop proficiency as a software engineer on the codebase.
  • Within 90 Days: Prepare to lead your first project, engage with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing), and develop cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
  • Beyond 90 Days: Become a fully-fledged software engineer, understanding business value, customer needs, and translating feature requests into solutions.
