Position Overview

Calendly is seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer to join our innovative Engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a product used by millions, focusing on delivering critical features and scaling our platform. You will report to an Engineering Manager and play a key role in maintaining user confidence through robust feature development and architectural improvements.

At Calendly, our Engineering team drives innovation to empower our customers. We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer with deep technical knowledge, architectural insight, and enthusiasm to help us grow. You will be instrumental in decomposing our monolithic platform into services, scaling our infrastructure, and refining our delivery processes. This role provides exposure to a wide range of technologies including Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Argo Workflows, Typescript, Rails, NodeJS, React, PostgreSQL, and Redis.

A Day in the Life of a Full Stack Engineer at Calendly

  • Collaborate with your team to build new features for high-impact enterprise customers.
  • Contribute to platform scaling initiatives.
  • Meet regularly with Product and Design teams to refine requirements.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies to plan and execute team work.
  • Work across squads to improve Engineering practices.
  • Review implementation plans and pull requests from peers.
  • Mentor and coach other team members.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of professional software development experience in a SaaS or technology-driven environment.
  • Strong proficiency in front-end web development using React and TypeScript.
  • Understanding of backend engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience building and maintaining Node.js services that interface with a Ruby on Rails monolithic API, or similar mixed-stack environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA), microservices, and involvement in monolith-to-services modernization or large-scale refactoring initiatives.
  • Proven ability to own features end-to-end, including technical discovery, design, implementation, testing, release, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to writing clean, reliable, and maintainable code.
  • Adaptability to new technologies and evolving architectural patterns.
  • Availability for an on-call rotation to respond to critical production issues.
  • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States. Calendly does not offer immigration sponsorship.
