Position Overview

As the Software Engineer for Scout Motor’s digital products organization, you will play a key role in the development and enhancement of our software products, from concept to deployment. Key products within the digital portfolio include: order management, customer management, marketing, production, inventory and planning optimization, loyalty, merchandise, servicing and repairs, mobile app, vehicle connectivity, and more. You will work with senior engineers and cross-functional partners to design the technical underpinnings of the product.


Responsibilities

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code across the full software stack.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in both front-end and back-end systems.
  • Optimize application performance and ensure security best practices are followed.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in software development.
  • Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and sprint planning sessions.

Location & Travel Expectations

  • This role will be remote within the United States. This role is not eligible for remote work in New York City.
  • The responsibilities of this role require occasional attendance in office for in-person meetings and events.
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of experience as a Fullstack Software Engineer or similar role.
    • 3+ years of hands-on experience with one or more JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue, and/or server-side development using technologies like Golang, Java, Node.js, Python, or similar.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of databases and SQL.
    • Experience working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
