The Software Engineer II will build hands-on expertise in modern web and API development by designing scalable, high-performance solutions backed by robust database systems. They will create reusable components, libraries, and tools that elevate not just their team but the entire Engineering org. The role involves designing, deploying, and maintaining full-stack applications on mostly AWS for our Facility Center users, utilizing best practices for performance, security, and cost-efficiency. Collaboration with Product Managers and Engineers is expected to turn ambiguous problems into thoughtful, high-quality software solutions, optimize APIs and backend logic for reliability and speed at scale, champion clean, maintainable code and drive quality through robust test automation leveraging both conventional testing strategies and AI tools. Continuous refinement of code quality, performance, and developer experience through automation, code reviews, and experimentation is also required, as well as proactive research, testing, and advocating for emerging technologies and methodologies. Contributing to a culture of collaboration through knowledge sharing, pair programming, and open discussion is a key responsibility, alongside engaging deeply in a team that values craftsmanship, candor, and continuous improvement.
