Candidates should have at least 2 years of professional backend software development experience, with a preference for Python or Java. Experience with Docker for local development, modern scalable system architectures, relational databases like PostgreSQL, and API design tools such as Protocol Buffers or Swagger is required. Cloud computing and Kubernetes experience are preferred.
Develop web services using Python and PostgreSQL, alongside Java and Drools Rule Language. Build new platform capabilities to scale with the business. Collaborate with product managers, underwriters, and external partners to develop and support digital life insurance enrollment experiences. Plan and execute the product roadmap, integrating with other services using gRPC, REST, and async messaging patterns. Share responsibility for operating workloads on Kubernetes in Google Cloud Platform.
