Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire knowledge about products, businesses, and technology.
  • A strong desire for professional growth and learning, with the capacity for independent feature ownership and execution.
  • Proven experience in building APIs intended for consumption by other engineers.
  • A focus on developing systems that are efficient, scalable, and reliable.
  • Familiarity with technologies including AWS, Postgres, and Node.js.
  • Sound judgment in evaluating tradeoffs and selecting appropriate tools to resolve problems.
  • Ability to consider and address implications related to observability, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and scalability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop APIs that address customer-centric problems within the product.
  • Ensure Common Room's core internal functionalities, infrastructure, and systems effectively support the needs of both customers and the internal team.
  • Identify and actively engage in significant company-building initiatives.
  • Foster effective collaboration with other experienced engineers, including those specializing in application and front-end development.
  • Utilize customer problems as a primary input for system design.
  • Create solutions that are characterized by simplicity and elegance.
