Senior Fullstack Engineer - Consumer Org

Position Overview

The Consumer organization at Opendoor is responsible for the digital experiences for home sellers and buyers. We are expanding our product suite to serve more customers during one of the most significant transactions of their lives. This is an exciting time to join as we are transforming our technical architecture and user experience to a multi-product, personalized experience. We are seeking a product-focused Senior Fullstack Engineer to contribute to this transformation.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with product and design teams to brainstorm solutions, iterate on experiments, and release product experiences for our users' biggest problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Build extensible full-stack products, focusing on front-end technologies but also contributing to backend development to deliver complete product features.
  • Engage in code reviews, mentor other developers, and actively participate in technical discussions across the stack with backend, frontend, and full stack engineers.
  • Contribute solutions to improve technical standards, software quality, and team processes.
  • Work closely with the operations team to identify technological solutions that reduce friction and enhance their efficiency in assisting customers.

What You'll Need

  • 3+ years of experience building and delivering high-quality, web-based, user-centered software products in a team environment.
  • Deep knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, React, GraphQL, HTML5, and CSS.
  • Experience building large, modular, and maintainable JavaScript codebases and reusable UI components.
  • Experience with and willingness to dive into backend code to deliver product features and debug issues (experience in or willingness to learn Ruby on Rails or Go).
  • Experience working closely with cross-functional partners, including engineering, design, and operations, to deliver value to customers.

Compensation

  • Base Pay Range: $143,400 - $196,900 annually
  • Additional Compensation: RSUs and bonuses
  • Benefits: Comprehensive package including unlimited PTO, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, and 401(k) for eligible employees.
  • Note: Pay within this range varies by work location and may depend on qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
