Experience with distributed systems, such as platform-as-a-service, distributed storage, or information retrieval systems, is required, along with a track record of designing scalable architectures and optimizing systems for latency or cost. A problem-solving mindset, self-directed work habits, versatility, and a passion for continuous learning are also necessary.
The Software Engineer will expand Replit’s cloud infrastructure offerings by launching new cloud products for Replit Agent, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement these features, and empowering developers with a comprehensive suite of tools. They will enhance reliability and scalability by identifying bottlenecks, optimizing critical paths, and implementing robust monitoring and alerting systems, working closely with the SRE team. Furthermore, they will improve utilization of cloud infrastructure by analyzing costs and implementing optimization strategies, such as resource provisioning and cost-aware scheduling, directly contributing to the financial efficiency of Replit’s cloud services.
