  • Proven commercial experience in applications support, infrastructure, and end user support
  • Working knowledge of key skills: Strong analytical and RCA (Root Cause Analysis) skills; Strong Windows OS administration knowledge (Windows 10 OS / Windows Server OS – 2012 onwards, strong Windows 2016 server knowledge and above); Competent with Application Packages; Basic understanding of VMs (knowledge of ESX VMWare, ESX infrastructure, ESX snapshots/restores); Enterprise services experience (Active Directory/DFS/Certificate Services/Keystores/IIS Web Services/Apache Tomcat); Security Patching; Release, Change and Problem Management
  • Competencies: Good knowledge of applications support; Develop effective resolutions for user problems and system errors; Adaptability to different personalities and levels of user knowledge; Confidently present complex subjects to different target audiences; Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills; Ability to work autonomously; 1st/2nd level operations experience with Application support team or service desk; Experience of working to SLAs and KPIs; Problem determination skills; Self-motivation; Ownership and management (able to work alone on tasks once trained); Methodical (common sense); Communication skills; Problem triage; Team player; Aptitude; Quick Learner; Professionalism
  • Willing to work onsite/hybrid across 3 UK sites: Stevenage, Bolton, and Filton
  • Nice to have: Windchill administration/implementation (significant time administering/configuring Windchill 10.2 or 11, implementation of Windchill 10.2 or above, administration of 10.2 and above, knowledge of deploying Creo Parametric/Office PDF workers, awareness of Creo Parametric/Creoview, CREO Illustrate); Enterprise services (IIS Web services, Apache Tomcat); Programming Languages (working knowledge/experience in MS SQL, Tibco BW)

Responsibilities

  • Provide extensive end user support for Mechanical Design applications at MBDA (UK) for over 3000+ users
  • Be responsible for the efficient operation and support of applications (primarily customised COTS) within the Mechanical Design Department
  • Specialize in identifying and solving problems and advising business users
  • Deliver support across 3 UK sites: Stevenage, Bolton, and Filton
  • Assist MBDA (UK) in the definition of best practice and processes associated with Mechanical Design applications
