Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in mainframe application development and support. Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, and VSAM is essential, along with experience in DB2 and z/OS/z/VM operating systems. Familiarity with mainframe debugging and monitoring tools such as File Manager, Fault Analyzer, APA, and OMEGAMON is required, as are strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Basic experience with Azure Monitor for configuring, managing, and troubleshooting alert rules is also a plus.

Responsibilities

The Software Development Engineer will design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and CICS, translating user requirements into technical specifications. Responsibilities include writing, testing, debugging, and deploying high-quality code within a z/OS environment, and providing L2/L3 support for mainframe applications to ensure timely resolution of incidents. The role also entails troubleshooting issues using mainframe debugging tools, monitoring application performance, collaborating with cross-functional teams, documenting technical designs, and participating in code reviews and performance tuning efforts.
