Candidates should possess 5-7 years of experience in reliability engineering within online technology companies, along with hands-on experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or Platform Engineer. They must have experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Golang, Java, JavaScript, Perl, Python, or Ruby, and familiarity with AWS, Azure, IAM, EC2, VPC, ELB, ALB, Autoscaling, and Lambda. Furthermore, candidates should be proficient in containerizing and clustering technologies like Compose, Docker, Dockerfiles, ECS, Helm, Kubernetes, Nginx, and Vagrant, and have experience with CI/CD implementation, object-oriented programming, relational databases, NoSQL, caching systems, and Open Source databases such as Cassandra, CockroachDB, CouchDB, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL. Experience with monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, Pagerduty, Sentry, and Sumo Logic, as well as configuration management systems like Ansible, load balancing and reverse proxies such as Nginx and HAProxy, is also required, along with experience in building monitoring/metrics and alerting tools and a BS degree in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline.
The Software Development Engineer - DevOps will participate in technical deep-dives to resolve issues and obstacles, build and test code continuously with scripting and programming languages, manage and track changes to code with source control tools, deploy applications via automation with configuration management tools, measure performance and environment of applications with system and application log tools, build and maintain higher availability and disaster management strategies, cost optimize infrastructure TCO, understand and execute infrastructure head instructions, handle complex architecture, respond to support requests in a timely manner, and build monitoring/metrics and alerting tools (APM tools) and custom dashboards.
