Requirements

  • Fully qualified individual contributor with complete knowledge and full understanding of own area (software test engineering) and broad knowledge of related areas
  • Ability to drive advanced levels of test planning, execution, and quality reporting through engagement with component developers, external system stakeholders, and sustaining/integration groups
  • Experience in creation and implementation of both automated and manual test cases and test execution plans
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving techniques to resolve a wide range of non-standard problems
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and act as a resource for colleagues with less experience
  • Skill in identifying and devising solutions based on limited information and precedent, using evaluation and judgment for new organizational problems
  • Experience enhancing relationships and networks with senior internal/external partners, using data and analysis to persuade and address objections
  • Deep experience in software test strategy and automation, creation of test process deliverables, test metric definition, and clear/concise result reporting
  • Ability to own development and delivery of solutions, driving cross-team efforts, leading by example, and holding self accountable

Responsibilities

  • Ensure applications meet GM software and feature standards for functional, system, quality, security, performance, and architecture requirements
  • Perform reviews of business and software requirements
  • Develop design verification plans
  • Execute tests, log defects, and report test metrics and test status to project teams
  • Work closely with architects, system engineers, developers, and project/program managers to deliver projects on-time with high quality
  • Identify opportunities and propose solutions to improve internal processes, services, and structures
  • Assist in maintaining optimal resource utilization across a functional area and call out constraints/bandwidth limitations
  • Serve as a mentor to junior level employees, providing coaching and guidance on difficult issues
  • Interact with managers and technical leads
