Requirements

Candidates must possess a BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical software development experience. A minimum of 3 years of industry experience as a software developer is required, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Expertise in building software and systems on cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, or Azure (GCP preferred) is essential, as is proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language such as Go, Java, Python, or JavaScript. Preferred qualifications include demonstrated experience with Go, Java, Python, and/or SQL, proficiency in Apache Beam and related data ingestion/processing technologies, a solid understanding of ETL principles, experience with scalable data processing pipelines using Bioquery or similar databases, and education or exposure to healthcare or life sciences, particularly HL7 FHIR.

Responsibilities

The Software Developer will work closely with the development team to design, develop, and deliver new software features across the Verily tech stack. This role involves contributing ideas to technical design problems, evaluating options, and proposing solutions. Development will be performed using industry-standard tools including GitHub, Google Cloud, Go, Docker, and Terraform.
