Social Media Lead

Position Overview

Turing is seeking a platform-native, AI-savvy Social Media Lead to take charge of our social media strategy and execution, with a particular focus on X and LinkedIn. This role is ideal for an individual who thrives at the intersection of real-time tech discourse and brand storytelling, and who can lead a team while remaining hands-on with content creation.

You will manage a growing team of social media professionals (2-3 people), define Turing’s social voice, drive rapid-response engagement with the AI and tech communities, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure our presence is sharp, strategic, and measurable. You will also be responsible for hiring and growing the team as the function scales.

This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on execution. You will write, produce, and ship content that places Turing at the center of the AI conversation, while coaching a team to deliver high-impact results across channels.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Strategy

  • Manage, mentor, and grow a social media team of 2-3, setting clear goals, providing feedback, and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Own hiring and onboarding for new team members as needed to expand capabilities.
  • Set the vision and roadmap for social media across platforms, aligning with brand, product, and growth goals.
  • Define and execute an integrated content calendar for X, LinkedIn, and other relevant channels, with an emphasis on AI launches, research, and thought leadership.
  • Establish KPIs and a performance measurement framework to track content impact, engagement, and audience growth.
  • Consistently evaluate social media vendors, platforms, and agency partners to identify opportunities to extend the team’s capacity, improving efficiency, content quality, or reach.

Content Creation & Execution

  • Write and produce social-native content—including threads, memes, commentary, short-form video, and visuals—with a specific focus on Twitter/X and LinkedIn.
  • Lead real-time engagement on major AI/tech moments, including LLM releases, research breakthroughs, industry news, and live events.
  • Collaborate with internal SMEs, designers, and content teams to create high-impact, brand-consistent content.
  • Encourage and amplify employee and executive voices via internal advocacy programs.

AI & Tech Thought Leadership

  • Stay on the pulse of AI and tech: track LLM developments, influencer discourse, product trends, and competitive moves.
  • Engage in real-time conversations with industry leaders, creators, and communities to strengthen Turing’s positioning as an AI-first brand.
  • Use social listening tools (e.g. Meltwater, Sprout) to inform timely, relevant, and resonant content.

Analytics & Insights

  • Monitor and report on platform analytics to drive insights, optimize strategy, and continuously improve performance.
  • Develop experiments and A/B testing strategies to optimize content and campaign performance.
