Candidates must have prior experience managing teams and prior hands-on experience with software or reliability engineering within the last 3 years. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent related work experience is required. Strong understanding of cloud computing, networking, Linux systems administration, containerization, and infrastructure as code is necessary. Proficiency in project management methodologies and effective spoken and written English communication skills are essential. The ability to work independently and as part of a globally distributed team, travel several times a year, and be available for critical meetings between UTC-6 to UTC-3 time zones are also required.
The Engineering Manager will manage one to two globally distributed SRE teams, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure team effectiveness and growth. Responsibilities include setting individual performance goals, recruiting, hiring, onboarding new team members, and triaging workload. The role involves coordinating with other engineering teams, developing team roadmaps, executing annual and quarterly plans, and project managing initiatives. Leading incident response, diagnosis, and follow-up on system alerts and outages, participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation, and facilitating the definition of Service Level Indicators and Objectives are key duties. The manager will also lead the definition, refinement, and execution of team processes.
