Candidates must have a proven track record as an individual contributor with over 5 years of experience. Expert knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol suite and in-depth experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP is required. Experience in programming languages like Go or Python for implementing services is also necessary, along with excellent skills in collaborating and communicating with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership. Nice to have experience includes building and managing service mesh architectures within Kubernetes environments, preferably utilizing technologies like Istio, and experience in architecting and managing network infrastructures across multiple cloud environments with a focus on building fault-tolerant and resilient systems.
The Site Reliability Engineer - Networking will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing cloud network infrastructure, including VPCs, firewalls, and load balancers. They will work with internal teams to monitor and ensure the reliability and performance of the cloud network, conducting regular analysis and optimization. Responsibilities include evaluating and optimizing the scalability, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness of network resources, implementing and maintaining best practices for cloud network security, and promoting effective collaboration and communication with other teams, stakeholders, and leadership. The role also involves keeping documentation up to date for cloud network configurations, processes, and procedures, serving as a subject matter expert, sharing knowledge, and mentoring other engineers, and exploring and proposing new approaches, technologies, and methodologies to enhance organizational practices.
