Zapier is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our Data Platforms team. This role focuses on improving the reliability, observability, and operational maturity of our data infrastructure, which supports both internal products and customer-facing applications. You’ll collaborate with a brilliant, distributed team to keep our data ecosystem healthy, scalable, and developer-friendly.

Requirements

  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering roles.
  • Cloud Familiarity: Familiarity with cloud-native architecture and services (specifically AWS).
  • Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Terraform.
  • Observability & Incident Response: Experience with metrics, structured logs, and smart alerting; contribution to incident response processes.
  • Automation & AI Mindset: Comfortable writing code (Python, TypeScript, or Bash). Open to experimenting with AI tools to decrease toil and increase impact.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, particularly in a remote-first environment.

Responsibilities

  • Level up reliability for our modern data stack – Help support and evolve our data platforms (including Databricks, Airflow and our LLMOps tooling) with reliability best practices.
  • Contribute to incident response processes and help teams learn from failure.
  • Leverage automation and Infrastructure as Code to reduce toil and improve deployment confidence.
  • Work alongside our existing SRE to improve the health, scalability, and developer-friendliness of our data ecosystem.
