Candidates should possess 8+ years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or a similar role with a focus on infrastructure and automation, proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and experience with infrastructure management tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, or Docker. Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI is required, along with a solid understanding of monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or New Relic, and experience with Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows systems, including scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Go. In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, security best practices, and incident management is also necessary.
The Site Reliability Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the infrastructure and tools required for continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and reliable software deployment, ensuring high availability and performance of production systems through monitoring and proactive issue resolution. They will manage infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Kubernetes to scale systems efficiently and securely, support security audits and compliance efforts, collaborate with development teams to optimize build and release pipelines, troubleshoot issues related to system performance and reliability, stay up to date with industry trends, and contribute to creating and maintaining monitoring and alerting systems. Furthermore, the SRE will promote a culture of reliability by working with teams to define and achieve reliability goals and ensure the stability of production systems, while also communicating complex technical information.
