The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience, along with 3-5 years of experience in configuration management suites such as Terraform, Chef, Ansible, Puppet, or CI/CD. They should have a strong understanding of networking, VPCs, proxies, and CDNs, as well as experience with cloud resource provisioning through API/CLI and Linux OS fundamentals. Furthermore, the candidate requires a basic understanding of Kubernetes, experience creating views and alerts using tools like Grafana and Greylog, and proficiency in programming/scripting languages including Shell, Go, Python, and Ruby.
This Site Reliability Engineer will build resilient and fault-tolerant systems and architecture, add automation and CI/CD to the infrastructure, foresee potential problems and risks, and push the team to containerize monoliths for independent scaling. They will also be responsible for continually learning and sharing knowledge, being available during incidents to restore order, and collaborating with cross-functional teams, participating in standups, and conducting blameless postmortems.
