Requirements

Candidates must be rising juniors or seniors pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and be able to obtain a public trust clearance or higher. Required skills include familiarity with Microsoft 365 services such as SharePoint Online, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Microsoft Teams, along with basic experience or coursework in programming languages like Java, Python, or other object-oriented languages. Strong communication and collaboration skills, a demonstrated interest in technology, systems thinking, or digital business transformation, and the ability to follow through on assignments and learn independently are also necessary. Candidates must be comfortable reading and interpreting existing code with guidance and able to commute to the Reston, VA office 1-2 times per week. A rising senior status is strongly preferred, as is prior exposure to SharePoint Online and/or the Power Platform, experience building simple workflows or forms with Power Platform, a passion for full-stack development, system design, or business intelligence, and an interest in supporting a mission-critical federal government contract.

Responsibilities

The intern will provide Tier 2 support for SharePoint collaboration issues, assist users with creating and managing SharePoint sites, and design and implement low-code/no-code automation solutions using Power Automate and SharePoint tools. They will also support the development of custom forms using Power Apps or other technologies, maintain internal knowledge bases and how-to guides, and attend and contribute to Agile Scrum ceremonies. Responsibilities include collaborating with interns and senior staff on a technical group project, gaining exposure to architectural principles like TDD, BDD, and DDD, and participating in root-cause analysis and lean-agile investigation methods. The intern will write and maintain both technical and end-user documentation for developed solutions, learn about Microsoft 365 tools and Azure services, and work with stakeholders to gather requirements and identify opportunities for automation and improved business workflows.
