Requirements

  • Industrial sewing machine operation experience, including operating a power driven sewing machine, threading needles, changing needles, routine maintenance, and safe operation in a production environment
  • Familiarity with a variety of stitching, including light-duty, heavy-duty, and hand-work
  • Ability to measure and mark fabrics and materials
  • Pass a sample sewing test
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment
  • On-site presence at Inversion HQ in Playa Vista, CA
  • U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State (ITAR compliance)

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble basic parachute system components, including harnesses, canopies, support tape, webbing, and similar soft-goods efficiently, safely, and in accordance with high quality standards
  • Prepare raw material and fabric for production using patterns, templates and drawings, including pinning, marking, measuring, trimming, and other required preparation of raw materials
  • Perform all daily routine maintenance and adjustments on sewing machines
