Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • CFP, JD, or C (certification or equivalent implied)
  • Expertise in complex financial issues and strategies, including multi-generational trusts, closely held business entities, corporate executives, and private foundations
  • Knowledge of advanced planning techniques (estate, tax, insurance, option, investment, retirement)
  • Ability to conduct research on complex tax and estate planning strategies and develop financial modeling and flowcharts
  • Strong communication skills to deliver wealth plans clearly to clients and advisors and respond to questions
  • Ability to build reciprocal calling and referral relationships with client relationship managers, sales officers, attorneys, and CPAs
  • Coaching and counseling skills for relationship managers on financial planning strategies
  • Proven track record of collaborating with and influencing management and peers
  • Ability to be highly effective in a team-oriented environment
  • Knowledge of relevant legislative, regulatory, and case law changes
  • Willingness to attend community/industry forums, conferences, and meetings
  • Participation in community affairs and professional associations
  • Supervisory skills to provide feedback, develop Analysts and Planners, and enhance career growth

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary Wealth Planning expert for high net worth prospects and clients with complex financial issues
  • Develop, deliver, and implement customized wealth plans with proactive, high-impact, multi-generational solutions based on client facts and circumstances
  • Provide professional consulting/advisory services using advanced planning techniques (estate, tax, insurance, option, investment, retirement)
  • Review all client deliverables for which the planner is the lead
  • Play a major role in the sales process to acquire significant relationships by identifying issues and planning opportunities
  • Conduct research on complex tax and estate planning strategies and develop financial modeling and flowcharts
  • Deliver wealth plans to clients and advisors clearly and respond to questions
  • Develop proactive, reciprocal calling and referral relationships with client relationship managers and sales officers
  • Coach and counsel relationship managers (RMs) on financial planning strategies via training or client reviews
  • Develop and expand relationships with centers of influence (attorneys, CPAs) for business opportunities
  • Assist with development and presentation of training programs
  • Maintain knowledge of complex planning techniques and legislative/regulatory changes
  • Attend community/industry forums, conferences, and meetings to network and deepen knowledge
  • Participate actively in community affairs and professional associations
  • Support ongoing development of the wealth planning process
  • Provide timely, candid, constructive feedback to Wealth Planning Analysts and Planners; develop them to full potential and recognize accomplishments
