Requirements

  • Leadership experience in end-to-end value chain engineering for product lines
  • Expertise in cross-functional collaboration with logistics, operations, product/process engineering, procurement, product support, and lifecycle management
  • Strategic focus on optimizing value chain design for quality, availability, and cost performance
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
  • Availability for 5 days on site in Peterlee, County Durham

Responsibilities

  • Drive integrated value chain strategies to enhance product delivery and lifecycle efficiency
  • Identify and implement design and process improvements to reduce cost and improve quality
  • Ensure supply chain resilience and responsiveness to meet global demand
  • Align engineering and operational priorities with business objectives and customer commitments
  • Design a resilient value chain to optimise business performance across business cycles
  • Develop sourcing matrices and strategies in partnership with procurement category teams
  • Map supply chain flow from supplier to point of use, identifying critical milestones
  • Optimize cost and lead time while meeting availability targets
  • Understand product structure and procurement timelines to support operational goals
  • Act as a key participant in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes, ensuring alignment with demand cycles through inventory strategies
  • Protect the value chain through strategic inventory positioning to mitigate risks
  • Drive make-versus-buy decisions at all levels of the BOM to optimise quality, velocity/availability, and cost
  • Apply Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) methodology to evaluate and optimize cost structures
  • Identify priority areas for cost reduction to achieve maximum impact on product profitability
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) program deliverables through value chain optimisation
