Position Overview

As a Senior UX Designer at Heartflow, you will be instrumental in crafting intuitive, scalable, and engaging user experiences for our web-based and PDF products. Your work will directly impact the efficiency of our internal teams, contribute to our financial success, and ensure the seamless integration of our clinical products, ultimately affecting patient lives and our revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Create UX Deliverables: Produce detailed wireframes, user flows, and mockups to effectively communicate design intentions to stakeholders and development teams.
  • Conduct User Research & Insights: Engage directly with internal and external customers to perform user research and usability studies, translating insights into actionable design solutions.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with product managers, engineering, human factors engineering, clinical, regulatory, and other cross-functional teams to translate designs into functional software, ensuring seamless user experience integration throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Develop and Maintain Design Systems: Utilize Figma to develop and maintain a comprehensive design system, ensuring consistency and quality across all platforms and touchpoints.
  • Advocate for UX Best Practices: Champion user experience best practices and stay current with industry trends to maintain a high standard for usability, aesthetics, and user satisfaction.
  • Problem-Solving: Approach challenges from multiple perspectives, demonstrating humility in accepting critique and feedback, and contribute to data-driven design decisions.

Skills Needed

  • Presentation & Communication: Ability to effectively present user experience designs to customers and company leadership to foster understanding and agreement for new designs.
  • Design Expertise: Proven experience in designing web and mobile (iOS and Android) customer experiences, with expertise in interaction design, visual design, and information architecture for complex applications.
  • Adaptability & Problem-Solving: Capacity to analyze problems from various angles before finalizing a solution, with the humility to respond constructively to critique and feedback. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Prototyping Proficiency: Experience with rapid prototyping tools such as Sketch, InVision, and Adobe CC.
  • Regulatory Acumen (Preferred): Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, particularly those related to medical devices (e.g., FDA, IEC 62366, ISO 13485), and experience with design processes in regulated environments is a plus.

Educational Requirements & Work Experience

  • BA/BS degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
