Requirements

  • BA/BSc or MSc/PhD in Life Sciences preferred
  • Strong commercial experience in the healthcare or diagnostics sector, ideally within regional hospitals or clinical laboratories
  • Solid understanding of molecular biology and genomics; experience with NGS is a strong advantage
  • Familiarity with clinical workflows, decision-making processes, reimbursement, and diagnostic trends in the Netherlands
  • Proven ability to develop and grow complex accounts and manage multiple stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Develop and expand long-term strategic relationships with regional hospitals, clinical labs, and diagnostic partners
  • Identify opportunities across oncology, infectious disease, and broader diagnostic workflows
  • Lead the full sales cycle—from opportunity identification and qualification to negotiation and closing—within established parameters
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, CRM updates, and territory plans, ensuring high-quality administrative execution
  • Build a deep understanding of each clinical customer: decision makers, budgeting cycles, reimbursement pathways, workflows, and market dynamics
  • Prepare and deliver tailored presentations that clearly articulate clinical value, workflow improvements, and economic impact
  • Coordinate closely with Sales Specialists, Field Applications Scientists, Marketing, Government Affairs, and other cross-functional teams to support successful implementations
  • Translate customer needs into internal actions and ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction
  • Build and execute a territory business plan aligned with Illumina’s commercial strategy in the clinical domain
  • Manage complex topics including procurement processes, tenders, validation timelines, and clinical adoption barriers
  • Leverage your genomics expertise to propose meaningful solutions and guide customers through technical and strategic decision-making
