Candidates must have a commitment to work 10am-7pm PST and possess deep technical aptitude in Linux administration, debugging, and command lines, or virtualization technologies like VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM, or storage concepts including data protection, disaster recovery, and backup. A good understanding of distributed systems and experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation are also required. A Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience or a Master's degree specializing in storage, networking, or virtualization, along with demonstrated English fluency and experience with remote file access protocols (NFS, SMB) and storage-related concepts, are preferred.
The Senior Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and operations of Cohesity clusters globally. They will develop scripts and frameworks for automating repetitive tasks, debug issues with backups on various hypervisors, and provide support for clusters deployed on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP. The role involves writing scripts using bash or python for log capture and analysis, proactively monitoring cluster availability, performing performance analysis and tuning, and defining changes to the Cohesity Data platform based on feedback. Additionally, they will provide support for PowerShell cmdlets and RESTful APIs, and debug technical issues with the CentOS platform.
