About the Role

This Senior Software Development Engineer role is within the engineering team responsible for delivering the CrowdStrike Falcon Host sensor on Linux. The Falcon Host product consists of two components:

• Sensor: A driver installed on client machines that observes system activity, recognizes malicious behavior, provides on-box prevention, and sends remote telemetry to the Falcon Host cloud. The sensor processes thousands of events per second, offering deep visibility into endpoint operations and performing rich correlation and computation to identify and block malicious activity.
• Cloud Component: Aggregates sensor telemetry for each customer's network, correlates malicious behavior across multiple machines, and presents a prioritized summary of detected threats to customer operations teams.

As an SDE on this team, you will own the design and development of core features for the Linux sensor. These features will span across core OS subsystems such as file systems, memory, processes, and networking. Many features will also involve shared components across Windows and Mac. The team operates under Agile development principles and ships frequently.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Linux software for deployment on servers.
• Own features from initial design through to delivery.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams in various physical locations.
• Responsively troubleshoot product issues reported by customers.
• Undertake other assigned projects.

Requirements

• Proven ability to develop high-quality code in C/C++. This can be demonstrated through job experience, academic work, or contributions to community projects.
• Experience developing product code on Linux or Unix with the following characteristics:
  • High concurrency requirements necessitating strong multi-threading skills.
  • High reliability requirements.
  • Detailed requirements on low-level operating characteristics, including memory usage, efficient performance, and correct conformance to external standards.
• Experience working on a team to ship major features and releases.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills within a distributed team environment.
