Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
7+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer or similar role, with at least 3+ years focused on AWS cloud architecture and migration
Proven experience migrating Windows-based legacy applications and infrastructure into AWS
Hands-on expertise in configuring and managing Windows Server, IIS (Internet Information Services), and Windows-based VMs
Deep knowledge of AWS GovCloud and its security/compliance requirements
Strong experience with AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation/Terraform, and CloudWatch
Background in system integration, application dependency mapping, and performance optimization
Proficiency with automation tools and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
Solid understanding of networking concepts (DNS, VPNs, firewalls, load balancing) and hybrid cloud connectivity
Strong knowledge of security best practices, including IAM, encryption, and compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, FISMA)
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams
Strong experience with Jira for team collaboration and task management
Ability to create clear, structured documentation, including diagrams, workflows, and procedures
Experience with documentation version control

Responsibilities

Lead the migration of Windows-based legacy applications, including IIS-hosted services, from on-premises infrastructure to AWS GovCloud
Configure and optimize Windows Servers, IIS, and Windows VMs in both on-premises and AWS environments
Perform application and dependency mapping to ensure all components are accurately migrated and integrated
Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS architectures to replicate or enhance existing capabilities
Develop migration roadmaps, cutover strategies, and rollback plans to ensure minimal downtime and business continuity
Collaborate with developers, application owners, and security teams to validate performance, compliance, and data integrity
Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment using tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, and PowerShell
Ensure compliance with FedRAMP, FISMA, and other regulatory requirements for AWS GovCloud environments
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize migrated workloads for performance, cost, and reliability
Document migration processes, configurations, and operational procedures for knowledge transfer and support
