Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or System Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in satellite communications or other large communication systems. Programming experience in Matlab and/or Python is required, along with knowledge of radio communication systems and/or satellite communication, with experience in link budgets being an asset.
The Senior System Engineer will develop new solutions to commercial needs using the Telesat Lightspeed system, including solutions for low latency high capacity services, hosted satellite (space relay) services, and mobile services. They will support sales activities by evaluating complex use cases using simulation tools, evaluate system performance boundaries by incorporating realistic user traffic profiles, and help prepare and manage a feature development roadmap in collaboration with commercial and engineering teams. The role also involves developing technical documentation and reports, preparing and delivering technical presentations, and contributing to the overall performance assessment studies for system configurations.
