About Customer Operations at Monzo:

The Customer Operations team provides tech-led and human support experiences for over 10 million customers. Their goal is to improve customer satisfaction and product engagement by offering effortless, fast, and empathetic support. The Operations tech team focuses on three key areas:

  • In-App Experiences: Creating in-app solutions for customers to solve their own problems and developing reusable components for other product teams.
  • Customer Support Tooling: Building tools to enable customer support agents to provide the best possible support and automating repetitive tasks.
  • Workforce Management Systems: Managing forecasting, scheduling, and routing customer requests to a workforce of approximately 3,500 people.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Engineering Director supporting the collective and provide technical leadership across 3+ squads and ~20 engineers.
  • Collaborate with product, data, and operational leaders to identify and execute on opportunities that align with the organization’s goals and strategy.
  • Work on solving complex optimization problems at scale, such as leveraging technologies like LLMs to aid human workers or efficiently managing a large workforce.
