Requirements

Candidates should have at least 4 years of experience in DevOps or software development, with a strong preference for Linux packaging experience (APK, DEB, RPM), debugging mastery, and the ability to work independently. Proficiency in containerization, Kubernetes deployment using manifests, Helm, or Kustomize, and Terraform module creation is essential. Fluency in at least one programming language such as Go, Python, C, or C++ is required, along with excellent English communication skills. Experience with vulnerability management and remediation, distroless containers, and supply chain security are considered advantageous.

Responsibilities

The Senior Software Engineer will triage, address, and automate the remediation of CVEs to prevent recurrence. They will build new Linux packages (APKs) and container images using melange, apko, and Wolfi OS, contributing to the Chainguard Images catalog. Responsibilities include collaborating with project managers and global teammates, mentoring engineers, sharing knowledge within the community, and enhancing software quality through testing and automation.
