Mysten Labs is building foundational infrastructure for decentralized protocols based on blockchain technologies. The Walrus Core team is dedicated to developing the software that powers Walrus, an efficient decentralized storage network. This role focuses on enhancing the performance and reliability of the Walrus network and contributing to its core protocol design.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain Walrus core, including storage node, client software, smart contracts, and toolchains.
- Work closely with research, cryptography, production, and Sui core teams to ensure the network is secure, performant, and reliable.
- Optimize existing systems for scalability, efficiency, and reliability.
- Collaborate with other teams at Mysten Labs to integrate new features and technologies.
Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in systems and/or network programming.
- Programming Languages: Experience with Rust, C, or C++.
- Areas of Expertise: Experience designing and developing systems in one or more of the following areas:
- Distributed systems and consensus protocols
- Storage/database systems
- High performance systems
- Networking protocols
- Production Experience: Operating and managing production systems, proficiency in system monitoring and alerting, with a strong focus on reliability.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Skills: Proven ability to drive complex projects to completion.
Nice to Have (Bonus Skills)
- Experience with Rust.
- Previous work on blockchain technology or cryptographic protocols.
- Significant contributions to open source projects.
- Research experience (MSc/PhD Degree) or informal research on relevant computer science topics.
