The role requires 1-3 years of technical leadership experience, experience developing and deploying microservices or APIs interacting with databases, a solid understanding of database concepts, familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and experience with version control systems like Git. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills are essential, along with a willingness to learn new technologies. Experience with Kafka, ksql, Kafka Connect, PostgreSQL, ELK, building data pipelines in AWS, and data operations using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Salt are considered bonus points. Candidates should be comfortable with Linux or OSX as a desktop development environment.
The Senior Software Engineer will design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and loading data into and out of MongoDB. They will manage, monitor, and optimize MongoDB clusters for performance, availability, and security, including sharding, replication, and backup/recovery strategies. Responsibilities include developing and deploying RESTful APIs and microservices that interact with MongoDB, collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, and implementing data governance, quality, and security best practices.
