Requirements

Candidates should have 4+ years of experience developing internet-scale software, preferably in infrastructure, with language proficiency in Go. Experience developing on top of Kubernetes or similar distributed systems is required, and Kubernetes controller or operator development experience is a huge plus. Proficiency operating Linux with a solid understanding of cgroups, namespaces, and other multi-tenancy primitives is also necessary, along with strong troubleshooting capabilities for both systems and software, and experience engineering large systems. Excellent communication skills are essential for collaborating with a service-oriented team.

Responsibilities

The Senior Software Engineer will work collaboratively to create and maintain the foundational platform for running Reddit’s infrastructure. They will deliver software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Reddit’s Compute Platform. Responsibilities include contributing feedback to the technical and strategic direction of the compute platform and automating critical aspects of the development process, such as service creation and management, as well as critical infrastructure operations. The engineer will also share on-call responsibilities with the Compute team.
