Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience, and a minimum of three years of experience in software development. Strong understanding of distributed systems, HTTP infrastructure, and CI/CD workflows is required, along with familiarity with cloud platforms or edge compute technologies. Applicants should also be able to design clear, composable APIs and have strong debugging and monitoring skills.

Responsibilities

The Software Engineer II will design and build backend services to enable scalable, secure, and performant storefront experiences, collaborating with internal stakeholders and Makeswift teams to integrate hosting with developer and merchant tooling. They will explore edge compute platforms and distributed systems patterns to deliver resilient infrastructure, write well-tested Go code, participate in code reviews and documentation, and support a range of use cases including developer-driven workflows and no-code deployments.
