Requirements

Candidates must have 6+ years of software development experience using object-oriented and/or functional programming languages, with Python being required. A minimum of 4 years of experience building distributed systems at scale and 4 years with a modern data stack including technologies like RDS, Databricks, Spark, Redshift, Kafka, Airflow, lakehouse architectures, real-time databases, and dbt is necessary. Deep expertise in SQL and data modeling, along with experience driving large-impact initiatives across an organization, is also required. Experience with API frameworks and AI/ML-enabled features is considered a plus.

Responsibilities

The Senior Backend Engineer will architect and own the development of new features, contributing to system architecture decisions and promoting best practices. They will mentor junior team members, design data models for optimal storage and retrieval, and drive technical architecture discussions and code reviews. Collaboration with Data Science, Product, and other engineering teams to shape the product roadmap and deliver on the company's mission is also a key responsibility.
