Takes ownership of building and shipping robust, well-tested features
Uses AI to accelerate development (generating/refining code, identifying edge cases/gaps, building interconnected features)
Mentors junior engineers through pull request reviews, pair programming, and knowledge-sharing
Independently breaks down tech specs and drafts sections of the TDD
Expertly debugs complex issues across multiple systems
Understands how to optimize database query performance by optimizing indices
Mentors all engineers and non-engineers across the organization
Works effectively with team members in product, QA, DevOps, support, etc
Breaks large features into smaller deliverables for junior engineers
Learns the "Why" for requirements
Guides conversations to focus on user outcomes, not just features
Drills in and understands how different personas will use the software
Easy to understand when communicating verbally or in writing
Easily understands discussions and asks clarifying questions
Communicates effectively with all stakeholders, technical and non-technical

Responsibilities

Write elegant, easy-to-understand, extensible code built for unit testing
Take ownership of building and shipping robust, well-tested features
Use AI to generate/refine code, identify edge cases/gaps in requirements, and address them
Use AI to build and ship multiple interconnected features
Mentor junior engineers via pull request reviews, pair programming, and knowledge-sharing
Independently break down tech specs and draft sections of the TDD
