Requirements

Candidates should have experience with technologies such as Typescript, React, React Native, GraphQL, Python, and Ruby on Rails, as well as cloud platforms like AWS and services such as S3, Kafka, EKS, Redshift, and Snowflake. A strong understanding of data exposure risks, data security principles, data classification, identification, and discovery systems, and data protection frameworks and regulations is required. Experience with access control systems, identity management, and security tooling like DLP controls is also necessary. A security-led mindset, flexibility, creativity, and a desire to mentor fellow developers are valued.

Responsibilities

The Senior Software Developer, Privacy Engineering will build and elevate the data governance tech stack by integrating critical assets. They will design and implement technical controls for least privilege access to data, develop data masking and anonymization solutions to protect PII, and build alerting systems to detect and respond to unusual data access patterns. This role involves building and overseeing automated tools for data lifecycle management and retention, and partnering with security, compliance, privacy, and product teams to ensure privacy by design. The developer will enable responsible data use that balances innovation with privacy protection.
